General Information:

  • The Council was created by Governor Matt Mead by Executive Order on September 16, 2011.
  • Upon assuming office on January 1, 2019, Governor Mark Gordon elected to continue Governor Mead's Executive Order and to  have the Council continue to operate under the auspices of the Governor's Office.
  • Bridget Hill - Wyoming  Attorney General and Rich Adriaens - Sheridan Chief of Police  serve as co-chairs for the Council.
  • Facilitation and coordination services for the Council is provided by Johnson and Associates - a Wyoming management consulting firm.   
  • The first meeting of the Council was held at Little America in Cheyenne on January 12, 2012. 
  • The Governor's Council holds quarterly meetings to review recent crash statistics, receive progress reports on initiatives in progress, to review research and to listen to presentations on an assortment of issues specific to impaired driving in Wyoming.  The agendas and minutes of past meetings are available for download below.  The Council conducts a number of subcommittee meetings in-between full Council meetings to work on specific issues or concerns.
